The master artist, whose real name is Müslim Akbaş, was born in Şanlıurfa. Shortly after his birth, his family moved to Adana due to financial difficulties.

He entered his musical life by starting to sing in a tea garden in Adana. After a while, he became an artist for Çukurova Radio and released his first 45 in Adana in 1968. Then he comes to Istanbul and continues his music career there, reaching large audiences. The fan base of the master artist, who has fit many albums and 38 films into his career, is very wide and has even been the subject of research.

In recent years, he has received great applause for his own interpretation of pop and rock songs.
